What are these little guys?

I was picking wildflowers today & came across these next to our fire pit. They're little - about 6", and this appears to be their full bloom.

That's it! Thanks Lavender! I've never seen them before, and the only place I've found them here is around our fire pit. Wonder how they got there....

Very neat!

Herbguide.com says that "... Increased germination follows fire, disturbance and denudation." That explains why they are in your firepit. How they got there is anyone's guess.

Well, now that we have it confirmed - I can like @Lavender2 's post!

Ha! Look at this map of where these milkwort plants are NOT found: (LINK) That's for all species! I feel a little left out.
