What is that thingy called that you use in winter to grow stuff???

I want to make a ''hotbox''?? :coolsun What is that when you cover a frame or wooden box with glass and are able to grow lettuce or spinach in the dead of winter??
I love spinach and now it is up to $3.99 a tub and I refuse to pay that for it. This coming winter I want to be able to have my ''box''

or frame thingy already built and ready to use...but I need to learn all I can about how to use one first ...am looking forward to lots of neat ideas and advice to help me achieve this project!
