I moved here to BC last year and this was my first year gardening here. There were a number of perennials here from the previous owner most of which I either knew or had grown in Saskatchewan. I just joined this website and have a flower that was unknown to me. Does anyone know what it is?

Someone gave me those out of her garden and called them 4o'clocks... I know they don't match the ones that Joe has in Florida. But, that is what I have always called them...

Thank you. Glad to be aboard. I belong to a sister site BYC and love it. I've been a plant lover and gardener much longer than I've been a chicken lover. Anytime we go on holidays, plants and nature pics are number 1. :tools :watering

Welcome to TEG, JoJo :frow!

We'll have Bills along here directly to keep you company. He's on Vancouver Island and I'll include his avatar just for fun.

Yep, on the flower ID... We call them Sundrops.

Ha... I never really thought about that name, they do look like a drop of sun ... Love 'em!

Hey there Jojo,

Welcome to TEG ! :frow

I sure wish our native wild primrose was so proper and well displayed. Isn't that yellow just incredible. I can see they open and close each day by the new buds popping up. I love flowers like that. We do have a Pink Mexican Primrose that gets very lovely down here:

One of my favorite is the Organ Mountain Primrose which is indigenous to only our local mountains, the Organ Mountains LOL.

Nothing as dramatic as what you have!
