Hi
Great site! I have been reading but this is my first post.

A family friend gave me a start of this several years ago. It grows to over 6 feet, spreads like crazy in runners and has a kind of bamboo -ish ( is that a word?) kind of stalk. Also it blooms a long finger like 6 to 12 inches which is white and sort of furry. And It smells like black licorice!! The whole garden does in this area. It takes a freeze well.

I love it but would like to give it a name. Thanks all in advance. :)

This is a picture of its new spring growth. But as I said it gets crazy tall and wonderful.

:frow ... :welcome tarrinna

Your plant reminds me of knotweed ... Giant or Japanese ... sortof .. but the scent is confusing ... :hu
I think there are some cultivated types also.
Then again, I could be totally off :D, but check out some images of the grown plant and see what you think ...
