So I was able to grow a few gardenia and butterfly weed from cuttings but they are just so tiny not real plants and probably nothing that should be planted in this heat. So I took them from their tiny little cutting cups and put them in bigger containers. But how do I care for them over the winter? I was thinking that they would be too small this fall to plant and I am not exactly ready to plant them yet. So if I leave them in their pots will they make it through the winter?

The big thing is to make sure they get enough light and don't dry out (being winter and the heater is going). If you give them some supplemental light throughout the day, they'll fair better and may keep growing. If you have a basement or sunroom that is not heated (but not freezing), that would be good. Or if they're still small enough, put a loose-fitting humidity tent/dome over them to keep them from drying out while inside.
