I have a spot where I would like to plant a semi-dwarf fruit tree, possibly a pear. I haven't decided yet what type of pear or fruit.
The problem is the area is not in full sun. It gets filtered morning light, full sun mid day for a couple hours and then shade late afternoon. I want to plant a fruit tree and this is the only space available. Bay area weather has mild winters and cool summers.
I have a semi-dwarf fuji in full sun that my neighbors apple tree will hopefully pollinate so I don't want another apple.
The tree doesn't have to produce alot, just some.
Please give me ideas!!
Thanks
Mary
