I had a 2003 Ford Focus wagon. I could haul 500 pounds of horse feed in it easily. But I pushed it to the limit and loaded it down with 750 pounds. Driving it loaded like that, it kinda wallowed it's way down the highway.

I could tie 3 square bales to the roof too!

I totaled it in Houston on Loop 610 one morning. I was fine, but the car was a goner. Always have a "home" wrecker number in your cell phone. They will come get your car and then you have a ride home!
Then I got a 2007 Dodge Caliber because it was cheap, got good gas mileage, had a CD player, 4 wheels and would get me down the road. I really didn't care, it wasn't a truck, so anything would do. I have stuffed 1,000 pounds of horse feed in it.

If it can't hang with me, it just can't hang. I am rather hard on vehicles. I did promise DH I would not haul hay in it..........and I did keep that promise for a long time........shrugs........WTH
What's the difference in stuffing a car with half a ton of horse feed or 4 big well fed people?
Dirt? Check. Horse feed? Check. Horse manure? Check. Plants? Check. Chickens? Check. Hay? Check. Dogs? Check. Anything and everything? Check.
It cost DH $45 to get it cleaned up.
At least I've never stuffed a goat in it.
Not yet.
