Nyboy, the cost of living must be tremendous there. I can't help wondering what the working poor do to make ends meet.

Vets here charge a basic $100 plus premium for weight. Of course, I waited till dog weighed 85# till he was neutered. Why didn't I get him fixed at 20#???????

Excuse my feeble mind, but I would think a larger dog would be easier to spay or neuter than a small one. Except for the increased charge for more anesthesia, they should prefer larger (not over weight) animals. Sheesh!

I would think with your connections you could have gotten a burdizzo.
Much cheaper, and so many more uses for the tool when you're done.

There are so many ways to go with this, but I've already gone farther
than is prudent...

Zoe is really doing good. She walks on a leash now without pulling your arm out of it's socket. She wants to please I just think no one took time to train her. I do have a gut feeling she might be deaf.

My Australian Shepherd had a litter of pups many years ago and one of them was overly white. I was told by the breeder I took my dog to have her bred, to put the pup down. It was my first litter by her, and I just couldn't do it. Sure enough, the pup was not totally deaf, but for all practical purposes, deaf. Her one trick was to grin. On command, she would screw her face into the most ridiculous grin, that all who saw her, fell in love with her. She allowed herself to be mauled by children, loving every minute of it. She had a wonderful home and gave love and joy all the years of her life.

That is not a very long life span. It must be heart breaking to lose one. They are such cute, beautiful dogs. Our Lab lived to almost 14 and we started immediately on another one. Love those goofy Labs!
