The days of heavy clouds and occasional rain was replaced with morning fog that sometimes lasted well into the day with cloudiness above and a few hours of sunshine.

The hours of fog have lessened as the landscape has dried so there has been more sunshine. The clear skies extend into the evening hours, allowing us to enjoy that waxing moon now, at what must be at more than half way to full.

Mid-day, high noon, a shadow of a 6 foot object (1.8+ meters) is 178 inches (452cm).

Our first snow arrived, and it seems we will have more snow soon this year.

Hey, hey; i think it’s time for me to break out my “sorry you live in such a hostile environment“ line!
The funny part is I'm the guy with record snowfall and single digits a while back. For the last 3 day’s it’s been 40 day and night, giving me a reprieve on the roof shoveling, for now!

Go figure?

It's sunny and a little bit above freezing here, but even with those nice conditions I am having a hard time getting motivated to go work in the garden. Must almost be time to start hibernating with a mug of cocoa and a good book!

there has been more sunshine.
Jinxed it.

The weekend was completely devoid of any glimpse of the sun with cloud cover from horizon to horizon. No precipitation and no warming above freezing. I shouldn't complain because the thermometer didn't drop much below the freezing mark, either. The soil must be well on the way to freezing in all areas of the lawn and garden.

Surprisingly, the sky is somewhat clear this morning before sunrise allowing me to see that bright Full Moon above the western horizon and the nearly as bright Venus to the east. Now, we will see if there is any sunshine for Monday.

i've read three large books the past week. i needed a break from other things and it also helps me procrastinate from filing paperwork. :)

i also still have things to package and mail out on my todo list.

we had some sun the past several days but not yesterday and probably not today by the looks of it. snow on the ground but hopefully it will melt off and warm up enough by the end of this week to let me get something else done outside...

sunny and cold this morning, some snow on the ground, top layer is definitely frozen, not sure it will be warm enough this week to thaw it out but rains later are in the forecast and warmer into the mid 40sF. Current temperatures 16F and wind chill down to 2F.

trying to be optimistic still about doing more outside but today doesn't look likely.
