I'm glad other people are having good weather.Last week we had some very cold weather but this week upper seventies and eighties!!!!!

DH mowed Saturday--it's the LAW in Longview, =b --and I raked up all the sticks and pulled up last year's dead weeds and BURNED 'EM ALL!! A VERY good gardening day!

O.K well I did this yesterday, but didn't have time to upload. I thinned my starts made and put in a trellis for the tallest peas, and pulled weeds. Most pics are just before thinning.
I still need to make a trellis for these ones.
The green garden fencing was just there to support the fabric that was covering the plants this week.
I actually took the thinned plants and replanted them just in front of the woods at the edge of the property. That way I don't feel so bad about throwing away all that potential food.

Lavender, I love it when the boys come to help , but sometimes the end results are painful! Last big tree we took down smashed older sons finger and ripped the corner gutter off Dad's garage. Once the branches are cleared and broken plants trimmed up I hope it all bounces back for you. Sounds cold there. We are getting warmed days finally. (About time!)Yesterday I picked up wood until my fingers were numb, it was 38 out there! My sons dropped 3 trees on Sunday, oh what a mess!, but the trees have needed to be taken down for a while. They saved the 2 sheds, but smashed a few blueberry bushes and part of the raspberry patch. The rhubarb should be OK, once I find it, and hopefully the clematis isn't too beat up from moving the arbor out of the way. The guys said they would be back on the weekend to haul more brush and wood. Big trees are SO much bigger when you start picking them up from the ground!
@kathiesgarden, thank you, I hope your father is doing well, also!
My parents are about 5 miles away, been there 62 years and we cherish every day they have their health and independence. We will do everything we can to keep them there, but I know that's not always possible. Very hard thing to think about. I don't think Mom is kidding when she says the only way she's leaving that house is 'feet first'.
Dad is doing great and agreed to let my son and the kids help him clean up his yard, since he has a lot of other projects he needs to get to.

This weekend we planted 4 rows of potatoes. Moved the strawberries to a new bed. Planted peas. Added soil and compost to existing beds and put the Grandkids (3&6) to work covering rows and picking up the yard! Plus finally got the koi pond cleaned out, redesigned a little add a new liner and moved rocks around. (Trying not to smash or bury the plants that are coming back.

Yay! It looks like everybody is making tons of progress! Spring what a wonderful season! When spring arrives and I start getting the various gardens cleaned up, I always think...who was the crazy woman who planted all these?? If only I could hold onto that feeling, when I get the urge to till up another area!

No kidding Lesa, DH just added another 2X10 ft. to 3 beds this spring!

Oh kay, got that south bed mainly finished. Need to get to town to purchase more plastic for the surface of it before seeding it in.
Working on that last bed main garden now. It will be put together in 2 halves. Got all its soil piled on one half, and skinned down to the bottom on the other half, where I have just begun putting its base soil in.
Got slowed down by a camper work party and an inspection by my bosses.
Will need to finish posting this later. First tries are not working.

I still have 3 rows to till and get started, planted 8 new tomato plants where I lost the others to the frost. check my garden every morning to see if the corn and beans that I planted have come up yet 
they sure are taking their time! 
plan on building a chicken coop adjacent to the big garden and they can tend it for me in the winter!!
First year planting in the non raised bed garden hope it does well.

Oversaw the tractor guy in the big veggie garden. I don't know whether he will finish or not. We left before he did.
Mowed around the garden.
Helped DW transplant onions into freshly tilled soil. Okay, that's probably the only one that counts . . . I did spread a lot of fertilizer around . . .
