@TheSeedObsesser , the neighbor gave me one of his pumpkin/zucchini crosses. He let the volunteers grow . . . . . . .

. again!

I said I'd make my, soon to be famous (!), pumpkin tuna soup but . .

. I haven't gotten around to it.

If it is still here by Halloween . .

. maybe it should be carved into a jack o'lantern.

SeedO, I have a 4x4' where I grow 2 bush zuchini's and they start getting in the way of the bed next to it.

Cat, No, I don't have a fence where I can grow them.

Freedhardwoods, is the plant very big of those tiny pumpkins?

I let the volunteers grow this year, which I probably won't do again because I want something edible. I cut open a second long green one out of curiosity and it appeared to be very stringy, might've made a good spaghetti squash but we don't eat those. The shell is extremely hard so it should last a long time as an ornamental.

Use that guy as a model?
Now that might just be the perfect Jack O' Lantern!

An earlier harvested pumpkin went to the neighbor's house. I told her it was 55# - a complete guess based on carrying a bunch of them around that afternoon. It was probably just because I was tired ... It might have been 10# heavier than this one :).

She's not gettin' this one. I don't care how cute she smiles!

I'm with Carol my pumpkin crop failed miserably. Mildew just slaughtered us with the cool wet growing season we had. Plus the late start due to weather the odds were really stacked against us.

We fought valiantly and our efforts will be retold in story and song but alas our pumpkins were met with an untimely demise.

Was frustrating because I had planted a number of them. Oh well next year will be better. Between the compost, the added manure & going where the beans were planted this year it should be a much better crop.

Great pics everybody lot of really nice pumpkins.

I have always found it is feast or famine with pumpkins. I had a great year but I have had a few years that were a bust. Weather plays a big roll in the outcome.

Have 30 or so more not pictured.
Would of had more, but the mildew tells us when it's time to quit growing them. Get tons before that happens, so it's fine. Wouldn't know how to stop or prevent it anyway.
