After a few more weeks of cold and rain it was finally sunny today! I got home from work, started doing some chores when the sky turned black and all heck broke loose!

They could be diamonds!

"Hurry quick, grab a stick and shake some down. Take a silver tater, emerald tomater, fresh plump coral melons. Hangin' in reach. Ol' man Simon, diggin' in his diamonds, stops and rests and dreams about one... real... peach."
~ Shel Silverstein (Where the Sidewalk Ends)

I prefer Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout (would not take the garbage out)

Alas, my diamonds melted.

Thanks. Some leaves got shredded but lets face it, my garden wasn't exactly taking off with the weather we've had. This nail in the coffin probably isn't the last!

Appreciate your thoughts for my poor garden!

Wow I'm really sorry to see that. I hope things turn around for you. Its been a really weird season. Reminds me of the summer 2 years ago same thing never really got that hot, and when you swam in the lake you'd get a headache from the cold water which is unusual for us in July.

If I get any watermelons this year Ill be shocked. They are just stuck in idle right now.

Its just like Joe Nichols says "Im doin' alright.....for the shape I'm in"

For goodness sake!!! We just can't win this year! Last weekend Dh went to Home Depot ( which is less than a 1/4 mile away.) While he was there- we had a thunderstorm. He came rushing home worried about the garden. I couldn't figure out what he was worried about. He said, a 1/4 mile away they had huge hail- and here at home, we had rain and wind- no hail. Go figure!! Hope all is well in your garden, now!
