Yep the Japanese beetles were killer on my roses, and those flowers. One day you see gorgeous blooms, the next morning NOTHING left, of either :hit. I knew they were coming but the bees were so enjoying the blooms I just didn't have the heart to seven dust the plants.

I know what you mean. I have cut my mallow down rather than dust it with Sevin to get rid of the JBs. Perhaps I should just accept them as a trap plant, but I have declared WAR against these beasts so I "march to the sea" rather than leave them to their supplies.

Eventually I just dusted the leaves, the bees continued to visit the flowers and most of the beetles died, I crushed any remaining beetles.
