I wish I could claim these irises, but they are the handiwork of the local garden/nursery called "Bergesons" you can google it and see photos of the flower beds they maintain for the community to enjoy in a parklike atmosphere, as well as being a very well stocked nursery!

Very pretty! Iris are probably my favorite flower :). I wish they were having a little easier time of it in my yard right now. With frequent rain, and not the sunniest locations, some of them are toppling over right now :/.

There is one under the peach tree that has just started to open and the timing may be good since today might be the last of the rain. It is one of those that are nearly black.

Quite a bit of work, iris are. I should just about pull them out every other summer to be sure that their beds are as weed free, as possible. The timing isn't so great tho' - that is a busy, busy time of the year for me to have that extra chore.

Iris have a wonderful fragrance usually, besides the delicacy of their large blooms and the broad range of colors. DW isn't impressed with the fragrance, tho'. It must be terribly disabling to have a small nose, :D!

Aren't those lovely?! I never noticed a scent on Iris, digits...must have a "small" nose. My only complaint is they never seem to last long enough... They are so heavy that even a threat of rain, sends them toppling. But, they are easy to grow, make a great background plant, and bloom early- all great pluses in my book!

Oh, I dearly love irises! Those are fabulous. Thanks for sharing your pics! The scent of them is what gets me the most. So thick and sweet, you wish you could just eat them!

Some additions. Went out to the nursery gardens last night to see what new flowers were in bloom.
