Have you ever gotten a plant because you liked the name? I am a big science fiction fan, can't pass up a plant with Fairys or Elves in name.

@Nyboy I did once buy a Hosta named *Grumpy Old Man* and gave it to my DH !!! Thankfully he laughed. What plants have you bought with fairy or elf in the name? I can not think of any right off.

heh, yeah i am guilty of buying a plant for it's name. a few years ago i got Enterprise iris as sort of a joke for my dh. then i found a daylily called Ferengi Gold, but i didn't buy it then. and today i just received my Obi Wan Kenobi iris i ordered a couple months ago.

though i have a couple hosta i bought for my mother because they were names for family or friends that have passed, like June and Devon.

i imagine the hosta you would have bought was Blonde Elf. it's the only one i can think of at the moment.

No, I don't think I have bought a plant just because of it's name. I just like it, so I buy it.

That's the easiest way Lesa. Then you can call it anything you want.

Yes, I have. I buy anything named Gypsy or Maverick, Tristan, or Marissa. I also have purchased plants with animal names for Trey's Zoo Garden.

I don't buy for the name usually, but last year I did buy my sister and I each a white echinacea called White Nathalie in memory of my grandma.

I've grown Rosa Bianca eggplant because my second daughter is Bianca. It happens to be a pretty eggplant also.
