IN the years I've been here I've made a lot of changes to make sure I can garden in the front and back yards.

Hubby wants lawn... why? Because its normal to him, because its what he was given growing up. It was his norm. I've made him go outside the box, and now he's on board about 90%. Long as he has some grass to mow he'll let me add as much garden as well want.

Being able to grow more, having that additional space all around our home, so gives me the satisfaction we're stable, and the ability to give more. It fills my heart and my stomach while I use it to make friendships and connections. A garden strikes up conversation and is more convenient then any store someone could erect. I love the notion, I love the lifestyle.... and it was once the norm. If we go back to it, thinking about all that 'lawn' in the US would make everything think "What was wrong with us?".
