What did YOU do in your garden today :P

played around in the garden when i got home yesterday evening. this morning planted peas and leaf lettuce in some of the landscaping pots i used last year for my tomatoes. crossing my fingers that the frosts will stop and let them grow without issue.

Last weekend changed oil in tiller. Today, tilled both gardens. Ground was much colder than I anticipated. And wetter. But done for first time.

I spent most of the day pruning the hedge row and the small orchard. I also got my garden tractor running and hauled my prunings and DH's weeds out of the way. Didn't get any time in the veggie garden proper, but tomorrow I am determined to get the early veggies in. It should be a beautiful day here in south-est, central-est Wisconsin.

Ah ha!

"Bunching" onions, Kathie. I have been curious what they'd do if left to over-winter but have never done that with bunching onions.

Have you grown Salpiglossis? I found that they were an easy one to start and grow from seed. Another petunia . . . from a distance . . . or, for people with poor eyesight ;).

Steve
I looked up Salpiglossis. They're really beautiful and they can be grown from seed, I will try some next year. I'm always glad to have a new bloomer. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Worked out in the "back forty" yesterday. Planted 50 pounds of potatoes and 80 onion sets. I was wearing my winter coat and earmuffs! Planted peas, spinach and lettuce in the regular veggie garden. Happy to get that done. My poor seedlings are coming along very slowly- it is like they can sense the weather outdoors- even though they are under the lights inside!
@lesa THAT'S dedication!! The earmuffs let me know how cold it must have been. Hope the warm weather finds you soon.

Ooh, I got spring fever and over-did it today. Hauled I-don't-know-how-many wheelbarrows of rocks to line my landscaping around front. I put down rows of roofing shingles under all the rocks to keep the grass from coming up between them. Cleaned all the debris out of my flowerbeds. Looks nice. I'll post a pic tomorrow. I am so sore!
I used roofing shingles as week block in a really nasty strip beside DH's shop. It worked great for me. Of course, when he was looking for his roofing shingles to repair a little building he stores his wood in...:barnie Oh well, like I said, they worked great.

I'm a wimp. It was windy yesterday, so I spent the day in the greenhouse. I had a bunch of seedlings to pot up, so didn't completely waste the day. Have a few more to get to maybe Monday.

Having visions of the pots, baskets and flowerbeds filled with color and me sitting on the deck enjoying them.
