So Sad

I always ate a school lunch with a token. Years later I still remember the fresh yeast rolls and the spaghetti they made fresh. I was in elementary school and boy were our lunches good. This was a small school out in the country. Maybe it's because back then there were older women doing the cooking?

I never at school lunches either. No such thing in the dark ages. Of course, we had a lunch hour -- a whole hour -- to walk home, eat, and get back to school. Not something we enjoyed on rainy days or when the low temps and high winds fought for control of a winter day. Bad days saw me eating "homemade" soup at The Snack Shop across the street from school even though it was frowned upon to be in that establishment.

I never ate school lunches because their lunch was my SNACK.

In 10 grade 2 friends and I where DSP for 3 days for leaving school grounds on our lunch hour. Great punlishment not allowed in school for 3 days because we left school for a few mins durning lunch hour.

:ya:ya :ya That is the way a school bureaucracy thinks. It only works if your parents think you done wrong. My grandson and 6 of his friends (should have been 29) were given 3 days off. All spent watching movies and eating snacks at my daughter's house. Some punishment, huh?

Nyboy, not boarding school. Didn't you noticed I said we had a token? Tokens were given to low income children for free lunches. I also remember getting a carton of milk and cookies every day for our pm snack.
