How Do You Keep Busy Offseason ?

My goodness thistle! I am so puckered out reading about all that shoveling! I hope it doesn't snow again tomorrow and you end up having to do it all over again! In serious, don't overdue it. That is alot of cardio. I bet you were sweating. You forgot to mention that you had to shower again.

At least you don't have to pay $ to sweat like I do.

Hope you have an easy quiet evening with a glass of wine by that warm fire. :hugs

Actually I like snow shoveling, :) and we aren't expecting any more snow for the next several days so hopefully I can get busy decluttering closets. But you're right about the free part. Probably not as much fun as working out with friends though.

Crossfit has a very tight community. We have alot of fun working out together and socializing together. But all we talk about is crossfit so my husband doesn't have much fun at our gatherings.

Despite the break from gardening, winter is really my busy season, since I work full-time in a school and have 10 weeks off in the summer.
If it is not super cold out, I like to get out in the woods or walk/jog down the road. Sometimes I play the fiddle. I like reading and various art projects, -welding, painting, batik, - but that mostly happens in the summer. The chickens can easily eat up a good part of my day. I have three flocks.

It is really, really easy for me to kill time on the computer. Once I tried scheduling very limited computer time for a couple weeks, and I got SO much done. I need to do that again (she said while blabbing away on the computer.....)

Not enough! Kind of like Ridgerunner sitting on computer and getting fatter! :( Does procrastinating count? I have been collecting flannels for a quilt for 3 years. I have enough, just never get going on it. I do a lot of craft projects. Card making, knitting. Spending as much time as I can with Grandsons.

I know a lucky few here can garden all year. Most of us have a winter where we can't garden. How do you spend the time, you would be outside gardening? I seem to redecorate rooms in my house.

Me too!
I don't know if i can get these picts to make sense...
This is the 'living room' that was almost completely unused. The only thing that this room had been used for in years was to play wii and 'store' junk.

I FINALLY got the stains out of the carpet, got the trash furniture out of there, got Dad to let me have the table that Grand Daddy made , took that giant basket of flowers apart to make several small arraingments, moved my FIL's china cabinet in - got the junk out and Grand Mother's crystal in, and even got the radio working again. TADAA! My 'new' dining room!

And just for fun - if anyone remembers that old piano that I was going to turn into a cabinet...
This is the 'canning cabinet' I finally settled on. An old dresser topped with a $15 hutch from the thrift store.

And once I started taking the piano apart, I discovered it was beautiful inside (after a GOOD cleaning!)
