I wonder when they were popular the first go-around.

Sometime in the 50's, we went for much narrower, right down to a pin stripe. Some tires even had 2 pin stripes. Then, all white walls looked olde fashioned. Then, they came back as nostalgic :).

Humph! I always had the white walls turned to the inside. One car of Clayton's had whitewalls when we first met. I think I taught him to appreciate the black tire sides.

Hey, Nyboy. It is okay for you to like the white walls. I won't think less of you for it. I preferred the black side because that way I could mix and match tires without worrying about whether the tires had white walls. 'Sides, white wall tires cost more.

I am sure your new(?) truck deserves only the best. Go white!

the blue coating is there to protect the white during shipping. a sos pad and water is all you need to remove it...

you need to put 455/50R 22.5 on that truck once those chinese knock offs were out....

We used a yellow Scotch Brite and mild soap when I was an auto-body detailer. The blueing should come off pretty easy & you don't want to abrade the tire too much. It'll just hold dirt better down the road (literally!)
