If you've ever overlooked tuna steak you will understand why it's seared and seven a bit pink. It's totally different than what you think.

I'm impressed with your planning @majorcatfish how you have thinks coming out like a short order cook during a lunch rush. Seriously that's a skill in and of itself

with fall upon us things are winding down here,figure that we have a couple more pickings on the peppers and eggplant,the fall cucumbers are a failure guess i needed to start them a bit early next year. the peas are loaded with flowers are not seen a pod yet.
the brussel sprouts and bok chio have been riddled from cabbage worms. but on a good note the lettuce, beets and carrots are loving this rain. will get out sunday and pick down things that are ready.
sometime in the next couple weeks will have to rebuild a couple of the original beds the wood is rotted.

That's on my to-do list too. The rough cut lumber I used initially didn't hold out for more than 3 years. Now that I've read more about it, I'm not afraid to use the treated lumber anymore (but would ultimately prefer cedar if it weren't so expensive.) Been meaning to get to those raised beds all summer! If I start thinking about it now, maybe I'll have it done before next spring.

I'll post a pic of the only melon that grew this year...and this one planted itself. Found this little vine and fruit in my pan of petunias the other day.

went out to the garden and picked a couple sweet banana peppers and a very sad looking bok chio to add to the wonton soup.....

i hate cabbage worms....

update 10/4/15
after over 7" of rain in the last 10 days figured it was time to play in the mud and pick things down before they start to rot....

our one and only cucumber and the twins....

checked the 10 day looks like i might be pulling everything in the next couple weeks... there are about 15-20 eggplant and a good couple buckets of different types of peppers still to be picked.....
as for the winter squash ripening have 50/50 chance.... 2nd pic lower left
