Hey! I've been to Nevada's capital, Carson City!

I bet there aren't all that many people who have not lived closer than a couple hours drive from there, who can say that ;). Yes, Nevada's seat of government is somewhat set off by itself. Maybe to protect it from corrupting influences ... or, something.

Richard, I could help you fold that map ...

That, or they were afraid of collateral damage from robbers, trying to bust into the Mint (the U.S. has over it's history had a lot more mints than the four (Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, and West Point) we have now. At one time there was a mint in Carson City, along with Charlotte (North Carolina) Dahogena (Georgia) and New Orleans.

FINALLY GOT MY CWP! [CWP= Concealed Weapons Permit}[/SIZE]
Got my gun permit yesterday, then went over to the local gun shop to get a small 9mm for home protection.
When I was ready to pay by credit card for the gun and bullets, the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me."
Making a mental note to complain to the NRA about the gun control wackos running amok, I did as she had instructed.
When the hysterical shrieking and alarms subsided, I found out she was referring to how I should place my credit card in the card reader.
I've been asked to shop elsewhere in the future.
They need to make their instructions to us seniors a little clearer.
Love to all, Sam...

I swear this is a true story

Back when I was in college I relied heavily on the university dining hall for my meals (like most college students) One day when I was sitting down with my friends I mentioned that the meal should be interesting, as I had never had Irish Pot roast before. After I took my first bite someone asked "well, what do you think of it?"

It was at this point I made a VERY unfortunate choice of words. What I meant was "Not bad, tastes sold of like the seasoned cow's tongue my mom used to sometimes cook for us"

What I actually said was, "Not bad; tastes like my mother's tongue."

It took them twenty minutes to stop laughing......and another ten for me to stop going red with embarrasment.

EDIT
Actually it was even MORE embarrassing, now that I remember. Since I usually ate my cow tongue warm (I don't like the feeling of the cold congealing fat on the roof of my mouth) I actually said, "my mother's hot tongue"
