My thought for today:
I was folding laundry tonight and could smell the freshness of the clothing, as I put pillow cases back onto nice, comfy pillows and smelled their freshness, then slipped my nightgown over my face as I got dressed for bed and caught a whiff of the same...fresh, soft and clean clothing. I don't know how many think of such things when they experience them, but I do. Having lived off grid where clean clothes were not as readily and easily produced, it's still a marvel to me to be able to wash and dry clothing so easily and so well. To even take a shower is a miracle to me and I am thankful each and every time I get to have one, even after all these years have passed since that time.
When I think of all the people out there for whom clean, pure water is not available, let alone a nice place to wash and dry laundry so easily, it lets me know how very blessed I am here. There are many out there tonight who don't know it or haven't experienced it for a long time..the simple goodness and gift that is fresh, clean clothing and linens. I thank God for clean clothes! Such a simple thing, but such a comforting and delicious thing to smell and feel.
What a luxury it is to have electricity, running water, a warm home and a place to get clean and to keep clean! I don't think that will ever get old to me.
