WR's 2017 Spring Garden

LOL!!! Cattle eat grass & with all the rain, we got lots of grass. Other than haying, which takes 3 days, it relatively easy. It's during the winter & droughts that consume my time & resources.

IMG_2400.JPG My favorite snack. :)

Picked another bucket of jalapenos & diced them up (yes, that's a lot of dicing). These will be put in the dehydrator & used for when I make pinto beans. In a test, 5 fresh japs weighed 180 grams & 18 grams when dried, so I know how much to add to my beans when I use them this winter.

Here's enough to do 2 batches of pinto beans:

I've got a hambone in the refrigerator that I'm cooking tomorrow in a pot of pinto beans. We'll take it to our friend's house and she'll cook cornbread. Simple feast with friends.
