@LocoYokel you go get those free/cheap "pet pigs! Feed them good for a month or so to clean up the meat and send them to that fabulous piggy resort, FREEZER CAMP!

Soaking the corn is really helping. I couldn't fill them up! They were so hungry all the time. Now, I can feed them in the morning, yesterday and today, they still had feed when I fed them in the evening. This evening I fed them the last bucket that had pellets in it. No more pellets, they just don't like them. I had run out of corn, so we went to the feed store for 10 bags. I started 4 buckets this evening and added some of that whey I got from @Devonviolet on BYH. We also got a bale of hay for the pigs. I am going to spray it with the whey to get their interest. We'll see how that goes.

Yep, it's been a while, and as long as it isn't anyone that knows me or knows my friends... I do my own buthering so that saves a few $ too... and now I just might have to try some BBQ on mine own! Still not sure DH would go for that, even a small pig can root some destruction on a place. Might have to sound him out on that!

I dunno what makes people hoard trash, but the guy that rented me space for my horses for 14 years did just that. It got really old, REALLY FAST!!!! I am positive that those people have been added to their rat stash for years.
It is NOT the same as my neighbors who collect and recycle it right away.
I decided that, even though the little town I moved to was run down in places, I decided to put all trash, like the riding mower that doesn't run, out of sight in buildings until I could repair/recycle it. I also store up metal to recycle and consider myself lucky that we have a recycler that will take it, and I get modest cash back from them. There are a few things that they charge for (dehumidifiers) and I will take other things in to offset the costs and I am HAPPY that I don't have to pay to have them removed from my property.
"Kars for Kids" and other charities are HAPPY to take old machinery off of your property that doesn't run anymore, and you get a tax deduction.
There is simply NO EXCUSE for hoarding cars and machinery that is really now twisted metal with an engine and a sharp, cutting hazard to people and livestock. It will not mature like an investment.
Btw, Macks Twin City Recycling, where I go to recycle, weighs you before/after for metal. My 1993 Dodge Cummins weighs ~5,600 pounds and my 2007 Dodge Cummins doollie weighs~8,400 pounds. Who knew?!

An all stock pellet from TSC. I have only had feeder pigs twice, they ate pellets. These pigs are a new wrinkle, they were raised and spoiled by the lady we got them from. We're going to build a trough this weekend and I'll offer them a hog pellet.
By soaking the corn, they are satisfied and not screaming at me for more feed. Amazing.

If hogs have feed and won't eat it, think gib. Wouldn't think pellets would be infected that way but the last few corn crops have had a decent amount of toxins. If they used DDG's in pellets, that 10X the effect in corn. Oh well, you have happy hogs eating corn.

The only full sized hogs I had a hand in raising (very first Mother's Day I did not spend with Mom, sow Beulah was overdue: farrowed that night, yes I slept in the barn! Devon sow X Duroc boar) we got most of their feed from a local bigbox type grocery and a few other chain groceries. (Tidyman's, Albertsons, Safeway, local bakeries.) The farmer I was working for also had deals with local "pick-your-own" farms, he had equipment like tractors and cats and they had lots of over ripe produce. Made some yummy pigs!
Of course them there hogs wern't finicky like some folks...
