Drought Ruining Fall Color

Predictions for our area sound like your. Too dry then warm in Sept. So far only some maples coloring, everything else just dropping leaves.

Our fall colors finally started showing up and it's all later than normal...usually most of the leaves would have fallen by now. This is starting to be one of the prettiest falls yet, with each day the colors growing more vibrant.

How are they doing at your end, NY?

@Beekissed , I just noticed that today too! It's like we've gotten a second fall. Some of the prettiest red maples turned and lost their leaves a month ago. I hate it when a hard rain takes them down prematurely. But after all the rain we've had lately, there has been a second flush: red oaks, golden hickory leaves, some other variety of maple just now turning. It was like the hills were glowing today, despite the dreary weather.
