My eyes leaked onto my pillow the other night. You see, I brought in 4 evacuees cats from the Calif/OR fire. They were from what I now know as a hoarder (she also transported 16 mini aussies). Her cats were emaciated. She ONLY feeds them raw hamburger and some non fat must be organic plain yogurt. Three days in and I'm slowly introducing fresh laid soft boiled eggs, some tiny bits of canned food and some dry kibble.

See why my eyes leak?

Yes, they do.
I REALLY believe that a cow should be able to maintain good condition year round on grass or hay - even when feeding a calf. However, the MOMENT the animal's body shows that it's not able to tolerate what I THINK should be happening, I start switching up things for the animal's best. Eva does GREAT on a grass-only diet. BUT, she does drop weight when feeding her calf and I will progressively up the concentrates as needed from plain beet pulp shreds, then adding seeds and/or plain grains, then adding processed pellets or sweet feed if needed.
