Two days before I had noticed a big rabbit hole in my kitchen garden, then I knew what was happening to my carrots. After the carrots had started growing, it was disappearing as the days went by, but I couldn't find the source. I somehow had to get rid of them. The garden had already become so unproductive, and there was an abundant waste in the garden. I had to restore my garden to the former state and henceforth I have been committed in that for the past few days. Now it's almost finished, and I have an enormous pile of waste in my backyard. Most of them are recyclable wastes, and few are plastics waste. Somehow they have found their way there. I have stored some of the wastes for making compost, the rest I thought of dumping in a pit in the backyard. But then I thought of sending all those to a recycling facility, except the recycling facility is miles away from here. Usually, I give away all the waste to the municipality collection centers. However, it will take a lot of time until they come anew. My husband has urged me to take help from disposal services in Toronto. Before taking their help just wanted to know if it would cost us a big amount. Is the price based on the quantity of waste? What do you guys do with your waste from the garden?

East Central IL, Was Zone 6, Now...maybe Zone 5
First, :welcome from Central IL!!! Somehow I missed your first posts. Second, it ALWAYS helps us if you can put your location in your profile--state is always good enough, but we don't know your zone without it.
I have 5 acres and several small buildings to store recyclables and we have a 2 local facilities. For some items, like scrap metal, specific metal like aluminum and copper, I can get a modest payment. For others, I HAVE to pay them. I am a Trustee for our very small town (<200) and I am trying to get a list of locals who will help others to get rid of things like broken appliances if they don't have a truck or other means to remove themselves. We have our own water, unusual and rare, even in our local, and we post things like this on the back of our water bills.
Get online and see if some people are available to help you. It is against one of our local ordinances to leave any trash on the yard. Residents are asked to put them in a building, or behind a fence.
IMPORTANT!!! People who will come by to collect will do it bc they can make a profit, so don't expect them to pay YOU. In fact, these folks may charge you a modest fee TO collect.
Still, this is a solution. Hope it helps you!!

costs and what will be allowed in various places is going to be different based upon your local service provider so that is where i would start if you are looking to set things out at the curb to be taken.

organic materials are too valuable to me here to let them go or even to burn them. almost everything is either buried in a garden or fed to the small worm farm (which eventually gives me worm compost and worms which also end up in the gardens) - the few things that i cannot bury because i'm afraid they will regrow get put on a weed pile set aside especially for them so they will dry out and eventually the worms will get them too.

everything else we can recycle we will, most glass and metals and some plastics.
