I wouldn't say that Orson Welles is the reason people are easily manipulated by media, but he was certainly the first one to demonstrate how damaging & widespread that manipulation could be. George Orwell published "1984" not long after... "perhaps they drank from the same "well"?
Exactly :). It's likely too have given a few an extra idea or two too have pondered on, another way to maximize any deception they want for whatever reasons.
When most humans are afraid they look to leaders and will believe almost anything.

I didn't mean that Orson Welles fake news was the "reason" but it's certainly been heading in that same direction ever since.

Deceiving for gains has been going on for ever, in some things the way it's done just changes with time.

we all drink from the same well ultimately, but anyways, it's been clear to me for years that some people are more easily manipulated than others. some people will grab onto any conspiracy theory or strange thing that comes along and it can be hard to get them to see what damage that can do to others.

Here it is if you want to hear War of the Worlds ```

I'm in no way going to debate on this subject, just saying how I feel!

A few of the conspiracies i think you will find are correct but its darned hard working out what the truth is anymore. There's are so many lies/untruths and conflicting stories.

oh there are certainly conspiracies, some of them have even been proven in court and been documented. i just think that many of them which pop up quickly after any new event end up being shown to be just people blowing off hot air. it takes time to document and hunt them down. but as like any other shot in the dark, sometimes someone will get one right here or there. coinkydinks do happen as do other things.

Years & years ago I saw a movie in which Orson Welles played a man dying, while whispering the wore ( Rosebud ) he was well known ~ and people searched and hunted to find: What Rosebud could be ~ then a scene of his childhood showed him playing and a close up or a favorite toy ~ a two runner sleigh, on which was painted: ROSEBUD ```

As to the broadcast it was mentioned before during and after that it was a dramatasation of "War of The Worlds" I wonder that he could be held culpable ```
