Do you think they are the same bean, they look very similar to me? Mine have now darkened quite a bit because I haven't grown it since 2016 and it wasn't frozen. If it is I'd be so curious to hear feedback about your experiences growing it, since mine seemed very adapted to my northern climate. I wonder if any of the Tarahumara beans are day-light sensitive?

Going through some old garden pictures and found a variant of the Tarahumara bean I posted a ways back. (Photo of a photo) Didn't remember that there were so many variants in that grow out...or how pink this one was.

They do look similar. My seeds are probably 4 years old and they are much darker compared to when I bought them. I am going to try growing the Tarahumara Star this year.

This year I want to plant Tarahumara Dark Purple for the first time and repeat Tarahumara Bakamina.
In addition to them, I also have in my collection: Capirame, Purple, Black & Blue, Black & White, Ojo De Cabra and Bordal.
I wrote to Native Seeds Search once but got no reply. I have to get to their seeds through the back door. I have noticed that they have reduced their bean offer a lot this year.

I was able to find the Tarahumara varieties on their website by going into an area where you can signup to get these rare varieties. It doesn’t look like they sell them anymore.

It's a pity, but hunting for rare varieties also has a lot of charm for me. My hands are shaking when I open the shipment with THIS bean. I found Frijol de Cerocahui in the Netherlands, it will be with me soon.
The peak of my desires are Kris Hubbard's native beans. I can gift my kidney or something similar for them.

i never knew that gardening would get me into the Fortune 500, but i guess i'm just happy enough being in the fortunate millions.
