@Dirtmechanic you alright? It looks like it came pretty close to you down there?
Yes -thanks for asking. It came within a mile of my Pelham store. Helena got hit, all along 119, 280. First pictures made it look weaklike F1-2 stuff, I hope they stay that way.

Oh Boy -here comes one at the house. Looks south but the strongest of the day. Debris ball is huge. Cats, dog, wife and 1 very quiet chipmunk are in the downstairs den.

Edit: It skinned the town south. I am pretty sure DW will die while chasing cats if we ever got hit by a storm.

Glad you are okay! We lock our cats in the bathroom so they are easy to catch if we do get a warning

The Alabama Experience: Getting robocalls whilst in the bathroom with cats and wife and dog whilst sheltering from a 'nado wearing bike helmets from yesteryear. It makes a case for a martini.

edit: Found spray foam chunks in the yard after the storm passed. That's a creepy feeling, knowing it probably came from some attic and someone's messed up somewhere.

Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876 on the morning of February 14.

That afternoon, Bell received a robocall telling him that his car warranty had expired but could be renewed.

Telephones could be very helpful during crisis events. Let's hope that people do not become so defensive about using them that they cannot serve that purpose.

It's 9c here but windy. Feels like freezing butt weather to me.

We read two conflicting weather reports for us next week . One we are about to have a heatwave the second is we were going to have another freeze. :hu

Freeze, I so wish I hadn't written that word, my phone froze immediately after and i only got it back on again an hour ago.

DIRT and ALABAMA!!!! I'm so glad you're OK. I was watching some storm chasers who were posting on FB yesterday. Very very scary.

I've only been in one tornado, and it was dry and in the Amarillo panhandle area. I saw it run across a field darting here and there. Didn't hit us but boy do I remember Mother and us kids being scared on that AF base housing.

I've been reading people calling Alabama "Tornado Alley."

I thought Tornado Alley is the central plains - yes, Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma north. That doesn't seem to be the current vulnerable area - it seems to be Alabama and to the northeast.

I don't know how I would respond to tornadoes. I'd really want to see them and want a wide horizon for that but being there would be dangerous.
