SSE finally had Good Mother Stallard beans in stock, so naturally I had to place an order. I mean, what's a girl to do? Somehow a few peas jumped into the cart:
Bill Jump's Soup Pea
Sutton's Harbinger Pea
Champion of England Pea
Those will go into the freezer for next year.
DD also picked up a few items for me at the Mennonite store near her home (kinda worried about food supplies), and is sending some Green Arrow from her bulk seed purchase (yay!!). I should be getting them at the end of the week. Do you think it is too late to plant them this season?
While waiting for my car's oil change this morning, I came upon This article, which might give you some insight.'

1) If you start seeds this week, don't start ALL of your seeds. Save some for Fall planting
2) Fall planting requires you to do some work calculating what is best for the Fall crops, dates for maturity/harvest, TEMPERATURE for starting some Fall crops indoors as EARLY as July!

Some Fall crops won't Start well if direct sown outside, with soil that is too warm.
Figuring YOUR 1st frost/last frost dates are pretty easy.
Mine are Around April 4th/October 27th
Yours are Probably different
I figure that it is ALL a learning curve.
Heck I haven't even starting my onions, leeks or chives bc of the "house babysitting" for the past 2 weeks.
But I WILL start them this weekend bc I NEED to learn how to grow them, and it won't happen if I don't DO IT.
