@Rhodie Ranch Unfortunately we can't make our loved ones try new things sometimes. If he sees it helping you though perhaps he'll change his mind. I know when we started cold laser therapy on our dog, the difference was so obvious and he visibly enjoyed the sessions sooo much, a friend of mine with arthritis signed up for the human version.
What’s cold laser?

What’s cold laser?
It's a low-level laser light therapy. This link explains it better: https://www.healthline.com/health/cold-laser-therapy

Basically they use the same laser used to zap tumors and remove tattoos from skin, but at such a low intensity it doesn't produce heat. The laser light is still strong enough to react with damaged cells, and causes them to regenerate. It also increases blood flow to the area and aids with healing.

That's the medical explanation, what I know is that Rocco was in so much pain he would fall and couldn't get back up. We had to come pick him up and put him on a carpet when he fell. This happened 4-5 times a day on bad days. A good day he might not fall, but usually good days would follow with at least one fall the next day.

We started cold laser therapy three weeks ago. He did not fall even once after the first session. By the end of week two, he could jump on the couch again. Today he went for his first walk without limping even once. He's gone from us wondering if we would have to put him down to acting like he did when he was about 8 years old. (He's 12 now.)

Friday evening - our routine grocery time for 50% discount ingredients
Unfortunately, we met a hater at the cashier this time.

We choose Friday evening because the discounter will put 50% discount stickers for whatever is due on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (as they are closed on Sunday). We are pretty familiar with the cashier lady, so we naturally had a chat. I mentioned that we have three dogs and two cats, all raw-fed.

The hater (the customer who paid before us) said: Such terrible food, poor animals! I only bought good quality food for my cat. Of course, that means canned and palleted food.

(And then she left with an amusing body language, like that she is cosplaying a dutchess or something like that.)

I seldom speak German, but such a hater is hilarious. I kept the conversation with the cashier lady like this: "Well, those are very good quality food. As our animals share the same food with us, I can conclude that we are poor people." Then we laughed together.

Some people are used to believing that they are superior and have almost no respect for others.

It also reminds me that a few years ago, we were about to leave one parking lot. One woman told her young boy while pointing to us and our car (It's a Hyundai i10, really small, but sufficient for us) --

"See, that's what I told you all the time - if you don't study hard, you can only afford such a small car in the future."

Can I say this is a culture shock? I thought such kind of "parenting" majorly exists in Asian societies.

That sort of reminds me of a story when we were trying different foods because of what the veterinarian though might be an allergy for one of our dogs. On his suggestion we tried Kangaroo. When I was checking out at the pet store that carried that food, the cashier was proud to let me know that no Kangaroo were harmed in making that dog food. Only roadkill kangaroo were used. She was so proud. As if roadkill kangaroo would not suffer. Give me a humane butchering any day. And can you imagine the issues with quality control and freshness?

The young lady meant well, no malice at all in her heart. I don't see that I would have made the world a bit better by trying to educate her but I would have made her feel really bad if she'd believed me. I did not even smile, just thanked her solemnly and walked out.

And no, the kangaroo meat did not help the dog.

Our dog (mutt) has more allergies than any pure bred. Peanuts are his weakness. Surprising what contains peanuts or peanut oil.

I've spent two weeks packing and accidentally packed all the stock of toothpaste. Colgate three packs baking soda variety. It used to be $3.21 for the three pack at Wallys. Yesterday I went to get another one at the same store and it was $4.89. We are getting nickeled and dimed to death.

Today I went to our West coast version of Kroger. I only bought clearance items.
I went to Grocery Outlet and only bought Store manager sale items (out of code or very close).

I don't care if I have to pack them. I'm dollar cost averaging.....

I have a good friend who FINALLY bought a new car. He is a mechanic and kept the 15yo beater going by fixing every little thing as it came up. PRETTY SMART!
All of our cars and trucks, including DD's are fully paid for. Our last purchase was a Toyota Avalon in December, 2020, and we paid cash for it. It was $40K. Now I think the 2022 version is over $60K.
You are very smart to use what you have and to be content with what you own.
Sorry that you have mouthy and nasty shopping neighbors!!! :hugs
Our local grocery store 10 minutes drive stocks pretty much every food item we need. Everybody here works in town, 30 minutes away, and we have 10 grocery stores there, 3 WM's, 3 Aldi, 2 Schnucks, 1 Ruler, 1 Harvest Market, and some yuppy store, that I don't shop.
They have better prices, but the closer store has the best meat. Their clearance meat is 10x better than WM, and they carry weighed/priced sliced cheddar like cheese from a place in Wisconsin. Very tasty!
You feed your doggies whatever you want!! Judging from the pictures they are well cared for! :love

Did you know that Let's Go Brandon! sent baby formula to Ukraine?
Well, they have nothing.
Did you know that Let's Go Brandon! has been continuously sending baby formula to illegal immigrants who broke our law at the border?
Would YOU like to be the one who tells an American mother that it's ok that her infant can't eat today?
