It’s a shag haircut. I wore it like this for years, dunno what prompted me to get that short haircut. I grew my hair out long after I quit coloring it. When I moved here it was still long, to my elbows. I grew tired of it and made a new friend that cuts hair and went back to a shag haircut. Only thing I do to it is wash it. I seldom even comb it. It always looks like a wild windblown mess and it suits my lifestyle.

Speaking of my friend that cuts hair….
About a year ago, I went to my friend’s house for a haircut. She has a few customers that she cuts hair, either her house or she goes to theirs. I met her oldest daughter that day. She told me that she wanted a lamb for her son to show at the fair, but couldn’t afford one. I told her I’d make her a deal so her son could have a lamb. A week later she was killed in a head on collision. Her 9 year old son went to live with her sister and family. I didn’t have a lamb that would fit the show rules for March 2025.

But I had a lamb that would fit age wise for March 2026. I told my friend that I would give him a lamb, she was thrilled and passed that on to her grandson and daughter. The little boy, now 10, was so excited. He wanted to know if he could keep it as a pet, instead of showing it. Of course! They came and got the lamb yesterday. I let him pet sheep, give treats and gave him a short education. They asked about leaving him a ram and I said no to that, explained why and showed them my “poking stick” that keeps Little Ringo from ramming me. Little Ringo isn’t quite the jerk he used to be, but will still try to take a run at me. So they fully understand those nuts have to come off! His aunt knows how, her kids have shown goats, so that will be taken care of. I told him sheep lifespan is 10 to 12 years. He said that was good because he’d be 20 or 22 when…… his voice trailed off. I quickly said yes, he’d have a buddy for a long time. His face beamed. My friend has a SUV, little boy and lamb rode in the back of it. That was one happy little boy. She cried tears of a broken heart mingled with joy. I hugged her.

😢 That's such a sad situation. Such a terrible loss

How lovely of you to give that little one a lamb. This will be his pride and joy for many years. 😊 :hugs
