And so, @flowerbug , the pessimist is never out of the dirt?

Perhaps so. But, the other word and my thought on It requires that the sailor should to be out of the water and with visual depth perception. Grounded, if you will.

Interesting that ..

. the author's family name is likely taken from the location of "the Crow's meadow."

Perhaps, he also identified with crows.

he's a very interesting author and i love his writing even when he writes things i don't understand (which is even better). that he leaves room for your own imagination is important to me.

the first book i read from him was called _Little Big_ and then he also has some shorter works called _The Deep_ and _Engine Summer_. his other longer novels and including the series of books originally called Ægypt series now called the Solitudes are a lot more psychologically challenging (i don't think i could read them right now). with time comes more perspective and where i'm perched at the moment isn't probably all that stable.
