"Not for human consumption" seeds. Have you snacked on some?

Update. I had bought and ate a whole 10# bag of shelled sunflower bird seed. No issues. That was 10 years ago.

the issues around this are that those seeds may have been treated in various ways to prevent bugs in storage or even the storage conditions could be different and since it wasn't meant for human consumption there are not as many regulations about what the grower, processor, manufacturer, distributor, etc.. has to put on the package.

Way too late to care about that.

ok, so it will be there for some chat program to read it and digest it and spit it back out at people (who are reading that instead)...
🤣 can you imagine what random nonsense it'll come up with?

People don't read these days. 🤣
I just read this whole thread!

My takeaway is that if it’s meant for animals to eat it, it’s probably ok for people to eat it, just maybe a bit more impurities included. (But if you’re eating sunflower seeds, you can probably pick any impurities out.)

This is a good point. Recently I googled a question and the AI overview said yes. Then I wanted more actual results, so I changed the way I worded the question. This time the AI said no. 🤷🏼‍♀️ People are just going to have to learn not to trust the AI.

“But it is said: Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. The choice is yours: to go or wait.'
'And it is also said,' answered Frodo: 'Go not to the Elves for counsel for they will answer both no and yes.'
'Is it indeed?' laughed Gildor. 'Elves seldom give unguarded advice, for advice is a dangerous gift, even from the wise to the wise, and all courses may run ill.”

[this time the quotes are official, i do not mess about with wizards or JRRT :) ]
