You must have been convinced ..

. by @Alasgun 's standby tomato variety, to grow Celebrity, eh?

Furthest north on TEG and in your Alabama garden. Before AL, didn't you spend part of your childhood in AK? Shucks, when I lived 500 feet higher in elevation here, my choice was Sub-Arctic Plenty! Seemed to be the only variety that would produce fruit to maturity.

Actually yes, I lived in AK about 15 years. My bro was born there. I actually got to celebrity via both a neighbor and my wife. Not too big for one meal, tasty if fed well, and can grow all season so you do not get overrun with slicers. Ours must be 10 feet at least since the cages are 8 feet of cattle panel and they are hanging over pretty far now. They suffer in our heat though and would benefit from a cover across deep summer, though I do not imagine the high ambient temps would be lowered enough to save the pollen from melting. Maybe I should try a roof. I have a 10x10 pergola I could use to experiment. I cannot imagine my wife denying me an opportunity to decorate the garden. ;)
