Last year I tried something different. School ordered tons of berries/soft fruits as an Easter treat for the kids and it was our job to divide those berries into fruit cups and of course I grabbed the clamshell containers to use as mini greenhouses. Used the smaller ones along with a square of damp paper towel on the bottom to sprout the beans that didn't get started in pots. Put a label inside the clamshell so it wouldn't get separated from the beans. I could stack them up in the greenhouse and the clamshells had vent holes, which allowed air circulation. One thing to note is that I did have a few seeds that hadn't yet sprouted by planting time but put them in the ground too and the majority of them grew as well.
I believe our last frost date is only a day or two away but temps have dropped into the lower 30s the last two nights and predicted to do so at least another night. In 2020 we had snow on April 28th, which was a rarity but something that could easily happen now given the overnight temps. I haven't yet started or pre-sprouted any beans.
