Is this as simple as puting some leaves in a jar and just letting them dry out, crushing and then I have dried basil? My basil crop is beautiful this year and I would love to preserve some.

I have grown broccoli for years and this is the first time it is bitter. I picked heads, did not wash, bagged it, and put in the fridge (as I have done many times) until ready to cook. Usually within a few days.
It is so bitter that I have had to throw it away. Even the chickens won't eat it...
I planted garlic for the first time several months ago. How do I tell when it is ready to harvest? And do I have to dry it out before I use it?
The thin greenery above ground is about 12" tall. Thanks for your help.

Invisable fence. I have installed one around our property and a ring around my garden. Keeps my dogs on my property and out of my garden. Works extremely well.
Interesting, what are the differences among those 3 varieties? I have 2 varieties of thornless blackberry vines that produce a tremendous quantity every other year. I wonder if the difference is annual production? I would be interested to know what you have discovered.

What a great idea. I will be sending seeds to you. And if you communicate with her before she comes home, will you please send a "thank you for service" from me?

Hi RB,
I am on the opposite coast and think you have already found a great site to questions, answers, and good sound advice. I would encourage you to find a local nursery/feed store, whatever is in your area selling plants, seeds, garden supplies, etc and establish a relationship for what grows...
