    French Lavender-Indoors

It's currently in a room that gets a lot of direct sun, and if I keep a window open, it isn't too hot. I think that's why it's grown soooo much. I guess I can just transplant it into a pot that can go outdoors. During the winter I may have to bring it indoors, because doesn't it not do well in...

    French Lavender-Indoors

If it's a problem, I could put the pot outside. But the mix of soil is confusing. Hey BBH. :D

    French Lavender-Indoors

Hullo everybody! I'm trying to grow French Lavender in a pot inside. The reason being that I can't put anything in the soil outside, since the house I live in is for sale. I read that French was the best for growing in pots. But I also read that it likes soil with lime in it. Well, I have lime...

Yeah, I'm getting chickens when I move, unless I have to move to an apartment. Nothing's for sure at the moment. I do want to move IF I could have a garden and chickens. Technically, according to the city, I can legally have chickens at my current house. Nice, but too late! Congratulations on...

Yeah, I'm sad too. This yard just never got very much character. Very cookie-cutter. But we couldn't take out the lawn, because it's good for resale value. The area has an elementary and middle school almost in walking distance. Oh, maybe I'll see if my library has the newest addition of Sunset...

Hi, I'm new from Southern California

Oh my goodness, your garden is awesome! I'm so envious, especially of all the fruit you have! Well, and the chickens. I didn't know you could hatch grocery store eggs?

Zone 4, huh? Guess I didn't read those maps right after all! I do love Washington. So green! I just have this thing with lawns. Most people just fertilize them and mow them, and they have no point. I do see having them with kids, though. Then it gets used! Usefulness is good! This is a pic of...

Hi, I live in Bellingham Washington (for now) and I've never gardened before. I'm in zone 8? But there is some thing about Sunset Zones that confuses me. I'm attempting to grow Peppermint, Spearmint, English and French Lavender, Garlic Chives, and Rosemary. I'm getting Strawberries against all...

    I'm here in Washington state

Hey, I'm here in Bellingham Washington. Once my house sells I'm moving back to my hometown of Gig Harbor. But for now I'm just 20 minute drive from Canada, and a longer drive to Mt Baker. Till then I'm planting everything in pots. I think the long winter killed me, and now I'm itching to grow...

    Mint Leaves Turning Black

Thanks guys. I managed to kill some mint before this one, don't remember how, and I'm kind of paranoid. I remember mint as being impossible to kill, but that was planted outside in the ground. I haven't noticed the black spreading, but it's only been one day, lol.

    Mint Leaves Turning Black

Hi, I realize I only seem to ask questions around here, but I just couldn't find a real answer for what's wrong. I picked up this mint starter yesterday, and today noticed some leaves turning black. Here are pictures. Is is some sort of fungus? Black Spot? Like I said, I got this yesterday...

    Cat pee in potted plant

Thanks everyone! It wasn't root bound since I had just re-potted it. It's soaking in a tub of water, right now. I had to get away from it because the smell was making me gag. :sick :sick It's like the water intensified the smell! Whenever my cat misbehaves, he does it at night so that it's...

    Cat pee in potted plant

So I re-potted an indoor plant the other day, and my cat decided the new dirt was a litter box! The plant is a Mauna Loa, (Peace Lily). The places that got "hit" are black, and it's all wilted. Is there any hope to save it? It's fairly established and I don't want it to die. :hit I moved the...

Starting seeds on a budget, in pots?

Omg, so many good ideas! Patandchickens- Seeds are on sale at the store near me, so I could probably get some lettuce seeds for really cheap. I'll wait on the peas, and hope I get into a permanent home before summer! The bag of dirt is from some store, but it's so dry it's amazing! Momofdrew-...

Starting seeds on a budget, in pots?

Just raided my garage (pit of doom) and found two pots. I'm thinking the green one for the chives, and the long one for the peas? Its about 30" long. I'm going to have to buy another pot, since I miscalculated how many I have, LOL. So a really big one for the strawberries? My Goodwill...
