The first pic. is corn and the little starts in the back of that pic. are tomatoes. the beans are blue lake bush from burpee. My fingers are crossed that they all make it into the garden and root well.

We planted pumpkin in tires last year and didn't cut the tires at all just plopped them on the ground and filled them with soil....The only draw back here was that it gets real hot and the black of the tire heats up fast. If I do it again I think I will paint the tire and see if it cuts down on...

I am so happy. I went to the swap meet today and got a shovel, a leaf rake, a tined rake, and a hoe for 10.00. I think I got a deal. YAY!!!!

Welcome, Hope to learn a lot here myself as this is my first year with a garden this scale. Usually I just plant a small batch here and there. This year I made a huge patch and have 400 plants in starter pots. I am feeling ambitious this year LOL :tools

I have to say that living in the desert not many native plants interest me. I like them when we walk through the desert but wouldn't really want most of them growing in my yard.
