I too am a seedaholic! I have been making my list from several of my favorite seed catalogs and have them ready too mail...more seeds I just have to have. I inventoried what I currently have and it took 12 pages (8x11 sheets) of paper. We do garden on a large scale, so hopefully I will use a lot...
My husbands families farm has been in the family since they came over from Germany. When we moved to Illinois 14 years ago we dug up some of his Great Grandmothers tiger daylilies and brought them with us. They are still going strong. I also have my Grandmothers Iris' too.
Has anyone tried growing figs in the cooler zones? In pots? If so, how large do they get and do they do well? I have been toying with the idea of trying the varieties from Baker Creek, but do not want to take on more than I can handle either. Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Christie
Life has just been busy...arrival of child #6 in Sept 2013 pretty much had all my attention. But he is much more independent now almost 16 months and plenty of siblings to entertain him. Garden was pretty small last year and I didn't start any plants last year. So, really looking forward to...
msbear,
I know I am a year late, but do you have any of the pumpkin seeds left? I would be interested in both varieties. Just let me know.
Thanks,
Christie

Thank you all so much for all your advice. You would have had a chuckle watching all of us out in the dark last night fighting the wind and cold trying to cover all my precious plants. We covered alot, but some just had to tough it out. Last I checked at 1 am it was 37...I did'nt wake up again...
OK...I know it is my own fault for planting early in unseasonable weather...but I could'nt help it! :idunno Now, they are saying anywhere from 28 to 32 from 1am till 8am Friday. :ep We have radish, lettuce, turnips, kholirabi, spinach, potatoes all up and doing great. Broccoli, cauliflower...

Rusty,
How do you over winter your tubers? I have not had alot of experience with dahlias and my problems start after I dig them up. What is the best way to store them?
Thanks,
