I have lots of extra eggs, the girls have been working overtime! So I'm thinking of trying my hand at making pickled eggs.

Put my kraut in the fridge today. There was a little mold, I scraped it off.

Yes, you can use red cabbage if you want. As for the food grade plastic, yes you can use it, just be careful not to get scratches in it, they'd be next to impossible to clean properly. And you can use pickling salt, it's the iodized type that you can't use. The carraway seed is optional as well.

How did it compare to store bought?

Bought the salt and carraway seed for the sauerkraut. Got the crock out of the garage and cleaned. Ready to make kraut tomorrow!

Several years ago, my DH put a bathtub on the porch. At the time we lived way out in the country. It was 1/2 mile to the nearest neighbor. I loved using the tub at night. Warm water, night sky, bubbles, and wine. Lovely!
