Double Red is a sweet corn for fresh eating, developed by Alan Kapuler. High in antioxidants, which makes me feel better about growing corn because that species doesn't have a great nutritional profile, lol.

I have had really good success planting radishes in the carrot rows, to mask the smell the flies gravitate to. Coffee grounds (fresh, not used) work pretty good too. If you can cover the smell of the foliage you won't have much of a problem with the flies. You do need to reapply the coffee...
