I got a 1 gallon pickle crock yesterday. Now what? Anyone ferment veggies? Lacto-fermentation is my new adventure. Any tips?

If I had to quess just on those leaves, my quess would be wood anenome of some sort. It doesn't flower till spring though.

I have 4 gardens ranging from 8x10 to 40x50. I do have a tiller but I am trying to get away from tilling. That is now the chicken's job.

Does anyone grow a winter cover crop? I am trying to figure which is best for zone 6. I am looking into winter rye but it seems it can cause some issues. What about a cover crop that can be harvested for a food source. Educate me people. :D:D

I totally agree. Now what is this??? I am going around the new yard trying to identify all the plants. And this??? It looks like a little evergreen but it is not a tree. My grandmother use to put them in wreaths.

I am completely stumped with this plant. It is growing out behind DH'd shed/garage. The leaves are fuzzy, it leafs out from the middle and I have NO idea what it is.

Plant them. They will be fine. I planted 6 rows this week. Zone 5-6ish. Good luck.
