    What Seeds are You Saving?

Eighteen years! Wow, I'm thoroughly impressed! I hope some day I can say that about my plants. Like I tell people who ask about the long wait time until some plants mature - X-number of years will pass no matter what. And at the end of that time, I'd like to have the slow plants rather than...

    What Seeds are You Saving?

I actually read that most cultivars (not 100% sure I'm using that term correctly for amaryllis) are hybrids, so pollination on the same plant can still produce a variety of results. But I'm quite far from an expert. The room concern might be an issue, but I figure they can be a little crowded...

    What Seeds are You Saving?

I'm a bit limited in my options at the moment, but that wont stop me! I'm attempting to save amaryllis seeds. I cross pollinated a couple of varieties and am looking forward to the long process of seeing what that can produce.

    Weather Where You Are

haha I see! Yes, we get gorgeous snow when its cold out! Unfortunately, we didnt get much snow with this system, so I dont know if I will be able to get picture of the good stuff. But I will keep an eye out for it and take a picture if possible. We usually have the best sparkly snow in the...

    Weather Where You Are

Haha well..43 miles, so usually about 55 minutes. I have a few things that I might need packed up in the car. But whenever I've really had issues, the only thing I've needed has been the cell phone.

    Weather Where You Are

Finally going to get a little cold and windy tonight. Wind chills supposed to get down to -45 by morning. The roads were super icy coming home from work tonight. And it doesn't help that I drive like a Grandma...my 1 hour commute was almost 1.5 hours.

2019 Little Easy Bean Network - Come And Reawaken The Thrill Of Discovery

I had Sacre Bleu in full sun. It was a cool, wet year, but it still produced pretty well. I'm excited to see what I get from September Blue. Hopefully it is even better than 50% this grow out!

    Baymule’s 2020 Garden

Wish we could have given you some of the rain from up here last year. After planting in my seeds/seedlings, I didn't water my plants once all summer and they were still unhappy from sitting in mud the whole summer. We had the wettest year ON RECORD where I live. But your garden looks like...

    Weather Where You Are

Haha @flowerbug They have been trying to hype us up about a winter weather advisory for the last 1.5 days (because they have had to keep bumping it ahead), and it expires in 2 hours and still none of the promised snow. The national weather service just isn't accurate enough to get that excited...

2019 Little Easy Bean Network - Come And Reawaken The Thrill Of Discovery

I cant find anything about your Blaugraue bean. Did you get it from the network, or where? It is a bush or pole? Dry or snap? I am going to grow some September Blue for the network here this upcoming summer. I'm interested to see how their color compares. Looking at the dry seed of...

2019 Little Easy Bean Network - Come And Reawaken The Thrill Of Discovery

Have any of you grown the Sacre Bleu Bean? I grew it out last year. It was developed by Lisa Bloodnick, and I got it via Experimental Farm Network. I'm trying to figure out what its best used for. Obviously it is beautiful, but is it any good for eating, etc?

    Sweet Pea flowers

I don't know how much stress is put on sweet peas by the nightly temp swings, but the sweet peas in my garden last fall resisted some frost. I dont know what temp would have actually gotten them, because I pulled them up when I cleaned off the trellis they were on. Beans/squash/zinnias/most...

    Weather Where You Are

Woke up to -14, but now we are up to -5. I have not seen my garden or lawn since November (everything's been covered in snow). But this is one of the warmest winters I can remember, and is a treat after last winter.

    Sweet Pea flowers

I grow sweet peas every summer, I love the smell! I plant some indoors and then transplant them out, and then interseed with a second round to extend the harvest. Mine thrive all summer in full sun. But I am a cooler region than you (our days are usually in the mid 80s all summer, with some...
