Thank Yall All. I found a Texas Planters Guide. I put it in my signature. I am excited again. I did a miserable job of weeding last spring. I need to figure something better out. One thing I am going to do is make my rows wide enough to get my tractor inbetween so that I can use the tractor to...
I grew a lot of egg plants this spring and summer. I lost a lot of egg plants this year just because we could not eat them. Can they be frozen? Maybe sliced and froze?
I am going to step up my gardening this year due to the fact that I now have a 3 point tiller and can till a lot more. In fact...

Thats funny right there. Its ok, but funny. Yes, it is a tool for tilling. My walk behind tiller tryed (<----is that right?) to kill me on numerous occasions this spring and the beginning of fall. This tiller takes all the work out of it and tills much more at a time. I was going to buy one...
No, I have not planted today. I am hoping for tomorrow. Beets are SO good. I get a magazine called Texas Gardener. It says not to plant all your beets at the same time because they will all be ready at the same time if you do.
I am going to plant Beets, turnips, garlic, onions, mustard greens...
I've made a new garden bed today for my fall crop. This will be my first fall crop. I am excited
I am going to till in some of my compost today. I just piled up horse manure and added vegetable scraps, egg shells, leaves, and grass clippings in a large pile, made sure they got a good soaking...
That is the correct way. If you are having a hard time figureing out what tendril is (I did) do a Google Image Search on it.
I have way way way to many watermelons
My tomatoes (this is my first year) are out of control too. I built cages, and trellises. I still continue to have a bumper crop of tomates. I have learned that I need more space in between them. I also want to try some determinate varities next year instead of all indeterminate ones. From what...
I was thinking that I would save money. Wrong. I bought a tiller (walk behind). I have bought 4 sprinklers, 5 water hoses, a new hoe and a mulching mower for the grass clippings. I then had to buy a 3 point dirt bucket for the tractor to haul horse manure from down the street for my compost...
Weeds beat me up this year and this is my first year to garden. I just put some mulch down in a garden area that I hoed the weeds out of. I am using grass clippings from the mulching lawnmower. I will let ya know how that works out for me.
I am always looking for a better way.
