All rightie... Thanks for the help here. I'll give it a go. Now I only have to wait for the female flowers to appear.
Baymule, I hadn't noticed before but you and BJ Taylor are neighbors, or nearly so.
Thanks all for the help, Tony
Thanks,
I guess I feel pretty stupid now. So, what you's are saying is...If there is a baby squash under the blossom it is a female squash. If there is no baby squash then it's a male. Okay...I understand that now. Should I hand pollinate the female irregardless or should I just let nature take...
Morning everyone,
Our Zucchini is producing wonderfully, Our Acorn squash is setting little squashes, the Buttercup squash is setting little squashes. Now the problem child, our green Hubbard are getting flowers like crazy, then they wilt away like I would expect but they are not setting the...
Baymule,
Did you put the lid on tight? Is there any fermentation taking place? I'm curious if any pressure builds that might blow the top off.
We have a lot of blueberries and have made wine, but this blueberry liqueur sounds very tasty.
Tony
Baymule,
I'm also experiencing some of the egg eating. Only a few a day.
When you say you "removed" the bad girls...did you remove them like in separate them to a separate pen or did you mean you "REMOVED" them?? I'm curious if separation would help solve the problem.
Tony
Sorry to hear about that. Sounds kinda like a coon. They are tough to deter, you almost assuredly have to eliminate him. If you aren't able to do it bring in a friend to get rid of it.
We lost a dozen 16 week old poults a few years ago. That attack was a family of coons. I took care of them...
Major,
That's a great idea. Except, when I mention the work part to them. The cushioned chairs would get unfolded and the beer tabs would pop. Although, they would likely talk about how best to remove it. That's about as far as that project would go.
Tony
Morning all,
Guess I never expected such a variety of answers. I appreciate them alleach and every one of them.
I will likely go with the holes and the chemical powder.
However I did laugh about the others i.e. bird bathvery important for the birds to have a bath, pigswe had pigs years ago...
Hi folks,
I have two very large hard Maple stumps that need removed or worked down. I got prices on having them ground out. That turned out to be very expensive. I really don't want the mess that is left from a backhoe or dozer.
Any ideas on a solution to getting rid of these stumps. I...
We used to presoak the beans before planting but some years ago we stopped that. Now we just plant them in a row and water real good.
This year our seeds didn't sprout well and ended up reseeding. I guess ya never know what's going to happen.
Tony
I never knew how smart and "entertaining" chickens were until we got our own chicks. We've been in it about 4 years now. We used to let ours free range...then after a neighbor dog attack I bought some of that electric poultry netting to keep the hens in and the predators out. This is our second...
Monty,
That's a pretty cool website. Thanks
Tony
Luis,
A few people have mentioned garden sulphur, I think I need to look into it and see if our local garden supply has it. Thanks
Tony
April Manier,
Is it the aphids that eat small holes in my plum tree leaves later on in the season?? And, do you have a name for the safe OMRI fruit tree spray that has Canola oil in it?? Or can I mix the Canola oil with water and use just that? Doesn't seem like oil and water would mix up quite...
Mule,
I'll take a few pics of the plants and post them.
Why did you say "Make a few more posts so you can post pictures of your seedlings!"??
Do I need a minimum of posts to post a pic?
We had another frost last night so I'm glad I didn't have them in the garden. You're from SE...
Monty,
7.0 is where the ph is normally. We end up having to give a couple treatments to reduce it...this is done yearly. Next year it will return to the 7.0. We live in northwest Pa. The past two mornings we had killer frosts but our bushes were covered. We have to remain vigilant until the...
