    Worm's Have Arrived! Picture Added

The worms are settled in and doing what they are supposed to do. It's cool to open up the bin, lift up the newspaper I have on top, and see all of them just worming around eating the veggies. My wife thinks I am a 5 yr old with my first worm farm!

If I turn it over, will they go away?

If there are LOADS of them, I would try to shovel some of the dirt that they are in out and set it aside, then till as you need to, then put the dirt back in. You might lose some but they multiply and you will soon have them back. You certainly need them to help keep the soil broken up.

    Worm's Have Arrived! Picture Added

The worms arrived today! I had them delivered to my work as I did not want them to come to home in case no one was there to greet them. I mean who would want to let a box of worms sit unopened for much longer than they have been. They were packed up in a small bag with some peat soil and there...

Oh dear! FROST predicted for tonight................!!!

Enjoy the day Hattie! I am glad I don 't live where winter hits strong. I live in Arizona where only parts of the state get the cold. I grew up however in Northern Utah so I am well aware of the frost and frost warning. Sounds like you have a nice place there.

Yes, one night my teenage daughter was having a party at our house and two of her friends decided they would take Sam for the evening. They left a ransom note. I proceeded to play along and eventually the next day he was returned. Worms have not arrived yet. They shipped Monday from Tucson...

    Worm's Have Arrived! Picture Added

Well, I ordered one pound of worms and I emailed them to ask how many worms were in a pound and they answered back 800-1000. So I will have quite a few to keep track of. I've decided not to name them all though, just have one name for all of them "Slimey" I am planning on composting only but...

    Worm's Have Arrived! Picture Added

I know what you mean, where I grew up in Northern Utah we would just go out at night when we were irrigating or after a rain and be able to find night crawlers all over, or you would dig a little in the garden and you would find your worms, but here in Arizona it's not quite like that. I...

    Worm's Have Arrived! Picture Added

I know it does sound kind of funny to be getting a worm delivery, but here in Arizona worms don't just happen to be worming around like they do in other parts of the country, so we have to have ours delivered. Kind of like the snowbirds that come to visit our state. Plus, with a place like they...

Yes, Provo is a great place. My daughter will graduate after this semester and my son in law next summer. He will then be going to medical school. I hope it is somewhere close, maybe here in AZ at Midwestern University.

I just planted a fall garden so right now I just have tomatoes, swiss chard (my chickens favorite), and some squash. I don't have alot of space to plant, I may figure out some container gardens. Thanks.
