Mass- Does anyone know anyone who designs and plans vegatable gardens?

I don't know anyone, but I wanted to say thanks for a new idea of what I'd like to do for the rest of my life...that sounds like a great job!

    the disgusting tomato....catepillar?

None of my hornworms have parasitic wasp eggs....they are all healthy. One of them tried to attack me today I swear. I went to pull it off and didn't get him all the way, when I reached back he began throwing his body at me. Stupid caterpillar thing. Then got him off and my chickens still...

    the disgusting tomato....catepillar?

I found one on each plant this morning. I remember having them as a kid, but I don't remember what we did. The chickens can't see them apparently to eat them as I held them up there and they just looked at it like "Nice plant lady, can you let me down?" I cut off the part of the branch they...

Help Me Choose Some Trees - Redwood - Fruit ?

Hello, I took a forestry class while in college, and most redwoods will grow fairly fast. Buy a tree that is about 2-5 years old and I think you will be happy with its size in a year or so. I know that my dad has had his in the ground for 10 years and it seems like they should be 50 year old...

    The Tree

I'm thinking we are going to have some great fires this fall! I would love to rid our yard of this tree...I looked up the toxicity...humans, that is all it seems to affect...and neurologically. I have a 17 month old who loves to pick up the berries, I'd prefer to not tempt fate on the eating...

    The Tree

thank you beefy! Is there anything that I can do with the berries? Or are the simply ornamental (and foot annoying)?

    The Tree

We have two of these in our yard, one out front one out back....we hate them both! They have "berries" that the parrots love and that fall all over. They hurt to step on, they are sticky and cling to anything that walks across them. I hate the tree....okay, I truly dislike the tree. It is...

heat...darn that stinkin' heat. Okay, so at this point then I will leave it alone, wait to see if it will regrow, or spread its seeds itself to surrounding areas and plan on more come cooler temperatures. Thanks you guys/gals

    **Is this an apple tree?**

I'm worried about the people who will be living in that addition. I have never seen construction like that. I hope it doesn't topple the tree. And where can I get a crab apple jelly recipe?

what is up with my cilantro?

I bought the plant, I have left the flower heads and am letting it go to seed because I didn't know what or how. As for corriander...the seed itself my DH can't eat, cilantro fine, seed part bad! So if I let it sit it will reseed itself then?

what is up with my cilantro?

I have stalks of flowers...still smells like cilantro, but no leaves. Will it reseed itself, or do I need to yank and start over?

    Hornets nest

I probably would mind it if it wasn't outside my back porch. It is brand new, only about 1 sq inch. I can see the queen and she has three workers helping make it bigger and bigger. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

    bananas?

Thank you Backyard Buddies I am checking those sites out now! Yeah...DH wants to put a pond again with native frogs, and try turtles again (our last one was 10 inches across and was taken by a opposum)...I was thinking Banana trees would look really cool with that.

    Southern California?

I have seen you here and at BYC, where in Oakland could you be? I lived on the border of Berkley, four blocks from the Rockridge station. I know there are great areas of Oakland, but I am just imagining chickens and a garden in the places I have personally seen there :idunno...not really...

    Granny Smith Apple trees

Is it true that they have to be grafted? In a hopefully, garden greenhorn decision I planted some seeds I got from an apple. I have little baby trees starting and seemingly doing well. But I was told that they have to be grafted.

    watermelon issues

Burkards and I use to get along. Everything I have brought from there except one berry bush has died! ARG! However, I grew up going to Bellfontaine so maybe I will drive down there this week and see what I can find. I am also waiting to see how these new seeds do. I think I may have used last...

    bananas?

I know odd! I was wondering about bananas. Can I grow them in Southern California. I am officially a zone 9 I believe. And how many do you need? Are they a tree that needs friends?

    watermelon issues

Everything in the garden is new. We bought the house 2 years ago and I had huge plans....then was pregnant with my first trimester in the heat of the summer (no planting). Then I wanted to start it last year but we had huge fence issues--one that needed to go up to keep the dogs out who like...
